Praise for ground staff over Sixfields pitch

Press Releasein Football

Stuart Gray has praised Sixfields ground staff for ensuring Saturday's League One clash with Huddersfield Town went ahead.
The 1-1 draw was one of only three Coca-Cola League One games to beat the big freeze on Saturday, the others being at Leeds and Leicester.

Gray praised groundsman Paul Currier and his staff for their work in getting the pitch fit for play.

The Cobblers had their pitch covered all week and took a number of measures to ensure the surface was playable.

"I think Paul managed things incredibly well," said Gray.

"And all credit to the young scholars at the club as well, because they have been dragging the covering sheets on and off all week."
