Last Sunday saw an amazing 872 runs scored in one afternoon of international cricket at Wanderers, where South Africa narrowly beat Australia. Wanderers already use PROTEA machines but bought a new 510G Greensmower to ensure the wicket was perfect on the day.
Australian captain Ricky Ponting also said: "There was always a chance they [South Africa] could score 434 because we did. But the odds must have been pretty high although it was a great wicket... Credit should go to both sides and the stadium atmosphere was really special, while the pitch was so good that if a bowler was going for seven an over he was doing a good job."
