GTM 006ARansomes Jacobsen customer, Gjersvold Tradgard and Mark AB (GTM), a family-owned landscape and general maintenance contracting company with headquarters in Sollefteå, northern Sweden, celebrated their 10th anniversary recently.

Ransomes Jacobsen's European business development manager, Scott Forrest, visited Sollefteå to acknowledge GTM's 10th anniversary and presented managing director Peter Gjersvold with a commemorative plaque.

Peter Gjersvold began his career working for his father's landscaping business in the mid-1980s. His father eventually sold the business to Skanska AB, the multi-national construction and development company and after five years working in the Skanska business he became disillusioned with the management style. He asked if he could buy control of the business, Skanska agreed and in 2001 the GTM company was incorporated.

"Obviously, we need good reliable machinery for our contracts and one of the biggest financial outlays has been in our mowing equipment. The majority of the larger mowers come from LHS Maskiner AB down in Sundsvall who is our local dealer for the UK manufacturer, Ransomes," he said.

"We have two of their big batwing mowers, the HR6010, which are extremely robust and very productive. They are also very comfortable for the operator and that's very important, as they spend many hours a day in the summer, out mowing grass. Just to give you some idea of the workload, we maintain 1.8 million square metres of grass in just two of our major municipality contracts. We also have two 3300s, which are out-front rotaries as well as two each of the older 728s and 628s. I am proud and delighted that Ransomes has recognised my commitment to their products over the years."
