Iseki SXG15Ransomes Jacobsen, a Textron Inc. (NYSE: TXT) company, has introduced a new compact, ride-on mower for use by professional gardeners and high end consumers.

Competitively priced to tackle major compact tractor competitors Kubota and John Deere head on, this highly specified mower has many features which the company believes will make it a best seller in this sector.

Taking the basic concept developed for the successful and larger SXG19 and SXG22 models, this new introduction features rear grass discharge with a central blowerless collection system and a shaft-driven mower deck with overlapping blade configuration.

Powered by an Iseki 10 kW, clean burn 2 cylinder diesel engine with a displacement of 688cc, designed to provide high performance at low cost and with an 18 litre fuel tank it's ideal for heavy work over long hours.

Long, wet grass can be dealt with easily by the 101.6cm (40") wide mowing deck which features two synchronised blades that throw the grass through to the rear mounted 330 litre, low-dump collector. And, because it's a blowerless collector, there's less noise and reduced maintenance. Unlike competitor machines, the shaft-driven blades have a 60mm overlap, leaving no uncut grass when turning; and it has a better ground clearance and deck lift height.

Like all Iseki machines, comfort has been built in. The semi-flat floor allows easy access from left and right and also lets the operator position their feet in the most comfortable position. The contoured, angled nose provides a clear view to the front of the machine. All levers and controls are within easy reach of the operator and power steering comes as standard. Hydrostatic transmission allows stepless speed selection in both forward and reverse for easy manoeuvring and ultimate control. A new seat design allows for easy adjustment for the perfect working position

Easy access to all components makes maintenance simple with daily servicing points kept to a minimum and all within a comfortable reach.

The combination of power, control, robustness of design, manoeuvrability, comfort and easy maintenance come together to produce a ride-on mower that can tackle a range of mowing applications, day after day after day.
