Local team, Ransomes Sports FC U9s, held a training session at Ransomes Jacobsen's manufacturing facility on Ransomes Europark. Sponsoring the team's kit for the 2016/17 season, Ransomes Jacobsen invited the boys' team to train on the RJ National football pitch, located adjacent to the company's very own on-site 3-hole golf course.

The team, set-up this year by Manager Nick Joy, currently has 11 players signed for the upcoming season, and they will compete in the 7-a-side Ipswich & Suffolk Youth Football League. The local side's home ground is Ransomes' Sports and Social Club, originally formed as a sports and social club for the exclusive use of Ransomes' employees. The club is now owned by Ipswich council and is home to Ransomes Sports FC.

Manager Nick Joy, thanked Ransomes Jacobsen for the training kit and the invitation to play on the company's pitch, "I am really pleased with the how the kits have turned out; they look great! I'd like to thank Ransomes Jacobsen, on behalf of the team, for sponsoring the kits. The boys had a great time training on the pitch at the manufacturing facility. You wouldn't expect a golf course and a football pitch in the middle of an industrial estate, but I was extremely impressed with the quality of the facility. It was very generous of them to invite us down."

Commenting on the sponsorship of the team's kit, Ransomes Jacobsen's Marketing & Communications Manager International Karen Proctor said, "We are delighted to be supporting a local football team which has links with the history of our company. We are lucky to be able to have such great facilities on-site and, of course, the equipment to maintain them. It was our pleasure to host the boys' training session, and we wish them every success for the new season!"

Those local to the area can support Ransomes Sports FC U9s in its first home game against Stowmarket Town Falcons which will take place on the 18th September at Ransomes Sports Club, Sidegate Avenue, Ipswich, with kick-off at 10:30am.
