RECO MD photos.JPGRECO have recently appointed a new Managing Director to take over from existing MD of 27 years-Richard Ruston.

John Walls officially started with the company earlier this summer and will work together with Richard to facilitate a smooth hand-over phase up until Richard's official retirement date in September 2010.

Mr Walls joins RECO from his former position of Managing Director at Newark-based family-owned business The Barcode Warehouse Ltd where he was responsible for driving the business forward from £6m turnover to £16m in 4 years. His appointment is part of a long term succession plan to take the RECO group to the next stage of its development.

Richard will take the position of Executive Chairman, and whilst still being closely involved with the business, it will be John who will facilitate the development of the company over the coming years.

Richard says "We're very excited to have John join us. We've been planning the succession of the business for some years, and the combination of John's experience, youth and enthusiasm for our business and its products will drive RECO to the next stage of growth".

"I'm delighted to join the Group" says John "It's got a great team of people dedicated to looking after its customers with great service and great products. We want to continue to build on this in the coming years".

The RECO Group comprises of Ruston's Engineering Co Ltd (RECO) and Stocks Ag Ltd, which together employs 70+ people and has a turnover of over £15 million.

RECO is the sole UK importer for 11 specialist manufacturers of Agricultural and Groundcare machinery which is distributed throughout the UK dealer network. Stocks manufactures a wide range of bespoke wheel equipment and electric distributors for seeds, granules and slug pellets which are sold throughout the UK and many export markets worldwide.
