Recycling dresser keeps costs down

Koro Recycling Dresser (14)[1]Contractor Phil Day of Phil Day Sports Ltd has significantly reduced his running costs by investing in a Koro recycling dresser.

His experience shows a positive way forward for all contractors looking to make savings - particularly as costs of top-dressing continue to spiral.

It isn't just the expense of these materials that is reduced. The Recycling Dresser also saves on the amount of fertiliser needed, by aerating the underlying soil and eliminating layering.

The increase in biological activity and re-use of existing fertilisers in the soil produce a much healthier and sustainable environment for healthy growth.

Phil saw the Koro RCD in action at Manchester United training grounds before purchasing.

"Despite prices rising across the board, the Recycling Dresser will help reduce some of my outgoings," says Phil. "It's not just the materials themselves - delivery charges are highly volatile. Any reduction in these areas has a significant impact on overheads."

Phil has a long history of using Campey equipment for pitch renovation and maintenance. He has recently upgraded to the latest two-metre Koro by Imants Field Top Maker. "This is one essential piece of kit - in fact I can't imagine ever renovating without one."

The Koro by Imants FTM 2000 with scarifying rotor removes surface contaminants such as thatch, poa annua and weeds, quickly and efficiently. Phil uses it primarily on winter sports pitches and cricket squares, although it is suitable for most sports turf surfaces.

Campey Turf Care Systems is one of Europe's largest independent grounds care machinery suppliers and over the years Campeys have earned a reputation for offering practical advice and superb aftercare service.
