IMG 6951Robin Lennie, Managing Director of Andreas Stihl Ltd, has been elected President of the Agricultural Engineers Association (AEA).

Robin Lennie joined Andreas Stihl Ltd in 1990, was appointed Finance Director in 2001 and Managing Director in January 2008 and has witnessed an almost quadrupling of sales during his 22-year career. He is a graduate Chartered Accountant who also obtained the IOD Chartered Director qualification in 2006. Robin has also served for the last 2 years as Chairman of the AEA Outdoor Equipment Council.

In his address to the AEA annual conference Robin advised his plan during his tenure would be to focus on developing the AEA's links with like-minded European trade bodies including CEMA (The European Agricultural Machinery Association) and the EGMF (European Garden Machinery Federation) - with the aim of building a strong lobbying force in the EU Parliament.

Robin commented "I am very pleased and proud to be part of a quality organisation like the AEA, with so much history behind us, but also always looking forward with our strategy for 2020 and beyond. We realise that constant change is here to stay; that our only security is our ability to change, and that we must embrace this for the interests of our members who are the core of our existence."
