0 RUFC - New York Groundsman Up For Award

rotherhamThe New York pitch has been shortlisted in the top three of the Championship but have not been told who their two 'rivals` for the award are.

The list is made up from match reports from referees and marks awarded by the 'away` managers.

Speaking to the Official Site Dave said he hadn't expected the pitch to be nominated this year.

'To be recognised in the Championship where most of the clubs are ex-Premier League with a lot bigger resources is fantastic and we`re really happy with it,` Dave said.

'I thought we`d be lucky to be in eighth or ninth and I think it`s really credible to be nominated in the top three because you are getting recognition from the people who are coming to play on it.

'We don`t know who the other clubs that have been nominated are so we`ll just be putting in all our efforts over the next three weeks to make sure we get the pitch the best we can for the inspection.`

Having been to every away game so far this season I've seen some good pitches - and some bad ones too! It`s great news for our groundsmen that they are going to be in the top three - but, of course, as fans we know we have a super pitch!
