Rugby Football League Groundsman of the Year

The Rugby Football League is introducing a Groundsman of the Year Award in memory of Brian Cartwright, a great servant to the game of rugby league and honorary Groundsman to the RFL for over twenty years who sadly died of cancer last year.
The award is not intended to reflect the best pitch or most expensive equipment, it is more to reward those Groundsmen that are often unsung heroes who put in effort above and beyond the call of duty, are dedicated- particularly in difficult circumstances, take pride in the job, have attention to detail, teamwork and have a 'can do' attitude.
The Rugby Football League is inviting clubs to make nominations for this award and, as such, has enclosed a nomination form. I would be grateful if you could return any nominations to us by 22nd October 2004. The award will be presented on the occasion of the Gillette Tri-Nations Final at Elland Road on 27th November.
