An obituary to Allan McDougall
Allan McDougall, 44 years old, passed away suddenly last Sunday 1st June 2003. He leaves a wife Janette, son Robbie and daughter Mandy.
Allan, on leaving school at the age of 16 years, served a greenkeeping apprenticeship at The Glasgow Golf Club under Jimmy Kidd. He moved to Hilton Park Golf Club, Glasgow, and worked alongside his father Rab, who also passed on 3 months ago.
At 19 years old, he moved to Cawder Golf Club, Glasgow, as 1st assistant head greenkeeper.
At 20 years of age he gained the position of head greenkeeper at Eastwood Golf Club, Glasgow. Allan moved on in his career at the age of 23 as head greenkeeper at Sandwell Park Golf Club, Birmingham. In 1994, Allan's career was broadened with a move across the Irish Sea to Roe Park Golf & Country Club, Northern Ireland. For the last 7 years Allan has held the position of course manager at Royal Mid Surrey Golf Club, Richmond, Surrey.
Our thoughts are with his family. Allan's funeral will be held on Tuesday 10th June 2003. at Hanworth Crematorium, near Twickenham at 10.15am.
