When Saltwood CC was approached by Hythe Green CC to host its league matches for the 2013 season, the committee was happy to help out another club. However, with two home matches scheduled at the ground every weekend the club now has two wickets to protect. Having purchased a total-play Ltd developed Climate Cover System™ last year, this tried and tested solution was the natural choice, as Chairman Ian Oakes explains:

"We were really impressed with the performance of the Climate Cover System™ we purchased last year. It's easy to put out and clear away by just one person, and can be left on the wicket without killing off the grass and producing loads of condensation.

It gives great coverage of the entire wicket plus area for the batsmen to run. We also found that, when used in conjunction with a Bowdry, it allowed heavy rainfall to be cleared away quickly and easily, saving matches from being cancelled. This meant it was the obvious choice when we found ourselves in need of an additional ground cover system."

The lightest, strongest, breathable ground cover system on the market, the Climate Cover System™ in use at a host of County cricket grounds - including Lord's, the Oval, Edgbaston, Gloucestershire and Glamorgan - as well as at league clubs and schools across the country.

Saltwood CC applied to Sport England's Small Grant pot for funding and, once secured, placed an order for a second 80ft x 15ft Climate Cover System™ with storage & protection bag. As a NatWest CricketForce member, the club qualified for a 10% discount on their purchase, a saving which went toward the addition two of total-play's Total Growth Covers - which act as both a propagation and frost protection system - to its order to help boost the health of the wickets ahead of a heavy season's play.

The full range of Climate Cover products are available online exclusively via total-play's online store, www.thecricketgroundshop.co.uk, with exclusive discounts on selected products - including the Climate Cover System™ itself - available to NatWest CricketForce member clubs.
