Shelton, the Lincolnshire manufacturer of land drainage machinery, look set for a busy few years thanks to an increasing number of overseas enquiries from their innovative new web site.
Visitors from across Europe are now able to research the full range of Shelton Drainage products online in a choice of languages and can even download colour brochures, also in their chosen language, to a specified email address.
As well as being useful for the visitor, these features are proving to be invaluable to Shelton as the web site is able to track and record all the downloads and then forward the interested party's contact details to the Shelton sales team to follow up.
Its still early days for the new site, but the results so far are encouraging, The website seems to be working with great results. We have had several downloads and enquiries, from Denmark, Germany, Estonia, and the UK, commented Mick Claxton of Shelton.
The web site was put together for Shelton by Lincoln based Aspect7, who specialize in multilingual marketing campaigns for businesses across the UK. Managing Director Jonathan Bowman explains the philosophy behind the site.
To succeed in overseas marketing you just have to look at things from the buyer's viewpoint. People will always search the internet in their native language, so having an English only web site was severely hampering Shelton's drive into Europe. We have made it accessible to the European audience by adapting the language content and changing some important technical aspects.
And it seems that the efforts are being acknowledged elsewhere with the site being put forward for an International Business Award sponsored by the UK Trade and Industry.
This award nomination is great recognition for what we do, adds Jonathan Bowman, but in the end we base our success on the results that our clients receive by working with us. This site is doing exactly what Shelton wanted it to do and that is what really matters.
