Burgos-Front-Side-2.jpgRANSOMES JACOBSEN's Spanish distributor, Green Mowers, has strengthened its position in the Iberian market with the acquisition of new and larger head office premises in Burgos and a new distribution depot close to Barcelona.

The company has doubled its business in the past three years and the recent move to the new premises in Burgos has provided 200m² of office space and 2,200m² of warehousing and workshop. The total investment will be in the region of €1.8 million.

The Burgos head office is strategically located in the middle of the country and acts as a logistics centre, using the excellent road network to distribute product to the regional depots. As well as distributing Ransomes Jacobsen turf maintenance equipment, the company also imports, on a non-exclusive basis, the E-Z-GO golf car and industrial vehicle ranges.

The company has additional distribution facilities at Estepona in Murcia and Orihuela near Alicante. Fifteen staff, which includes sales, service, parts and marketing personnel, work at the central Burgos facility with a further 12 at the other three locations. The investment at the Barcelona complex is in the region of €500,000 and a further €360,000 has been spent to get Estepona fully functional.

"Our principal markets are golf and football," says Managing Director Rosendo Ferrer-Dalmau. "There's very little municipal or local authority-type work here in Spain, so our core business focuses on these two high profile sports. In La Liga, Spanish football's first division, we have mowers at Real Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Espanyol, Celta Vigo, Sevilla and Real Sociedad. We have grown the business very quickly and we required more warehousing space to store the equipment before delivering to our customers.

"Support from England has been first class and we recently held a full day's technical and sales training seminar for our customer-facing staff to ensure that they were up-to-date with all the latest technology relating to the E-Z-GO range."
