IIPb.jpg'An almost insatiable appetite for continuous improvement' and 'a cracking organisation' were just two of the plaudits received by local firm Harrod UK Ltd after their recent Investors In People Assessment.

Hot on the heels of their success at the 2007 Business Excellence Awards, Harrod UK Ltd have just been awarded Investors In People (IIP) status for the 5th consecutive time.

Manufacturing Director David Bowling commented "We have two fantastic brands in both Sports and Horticulture, but there is no doubt about it - our greatest asset is our people. The culture they all adopt has really helped us through these difficult economic times, enabling us to buck the trend and continue to thrive as a UK manufacturer."

Dave Abdul, the IIP assessor who completed the on-site assessment at Harrod UK's factory in Lowestoft, adds "This is their 5th IIP Assessment having maintained the standard since 1996. The firm through investment in staff skills have gone from strength to strength with record results and successful diversification into new markets".

The Investor In People Standard provides a framework to help a company achieve success through its people. The benefits to a company of achieving IIP status include increased productivity, improved motivation and enhanced quality.
