One of Ian's first jobs will be cutting the fairways for the Smurfit European Open, which has been hosted at the club since 1995.

Ian worked at an office in London for around six years before deciding to study at Writtle for his one year sports turf course.

Ian, who worked at Channels Gold Club in Chelmsford while he was at Writtle College said: "I am very lucky to have got the job straight from college. My course at Writtle College has really prepared me for this job. I am very excited about the prospect of working at the club. "
