Stuart Canvas Invests in Equipment & New Warrington Premises

Press Releasein Industry News

Warrington based Stuart Canvas, the UK's leading bespoke manufacturer of sports, commercial and industrial covers, has relocated to bigger premises in Hardwick Grange and made an additional £100,000 investment in new manufacturing equipment. The announcement is positive news for the region's manufacturing industry and an indication of Stuart Canvas' strong performance despite the economic downturn and negative growth in the UK's manufacturing sector.

Stuart Canvas has over thirty years of experience in manufacturing PVC and cotton tarpaulins and proudly supplies covers to the Wimbledon Tennis Championships, Premier League Football Clubs, Lords Cricket Ground and Haydock Race Course amongst others. The new site in Warrington will give Stuart Canvas more than 25,000 sq ft manufacturing space - an increase of more than 50% on their previous site.

With manufacturing activity in the UK hitting a ten month low in September it is encouraging that the Warrington firm is bucking the trend. Its additional £100,000 investment in new machinery is a further indication of the company's ambition and desire to increase the products and services it provides its customer.

Ed Stoddart, chief executive of Stuart Canvas comments: "We've had a strong year and have grown to such an extent that we urgently needed more space. This move, along with our investment in equipment, marks a significant milestone for the company and gives us an ideal platform to further develop our capabilities and achieve even greater improvements in efficiency."
