Tabard Gardens grabs 'Outstanding London Sports Venue Award' for August

Tabard Gardens is home to a brilliant astroturf football pitch that caters for 5-a-side, 7-a-side and 11-a-side grassroots games. The football facility is set in a large park in Southwark and locals can use the outdoor gym, table tennis tables and children's play area in the vicinity. Tabard Gardens has also been awarded the highly acclaimed Green Flag status.

Sport England's latest research into participation in the borough found that 37.9% of Southwark residents are involved in physical activity at least once a week.

The award, which is determined by MyLocalPitch users, was based on pitch quality, venue amenities and customer experience.
