The Club Company renew supplier agreement for the third time

By Peter Driver

The Club Company, the former Clubhaus organisation which was the subject of a management buyout earlier this summer, has signed a third major preferred supplier contract with Ransomes Jacobsen.

The Ipswich based turf equipment manufacturer has supplied approximately £3 million of golf course maintenance machinery to the group over the past 8 years, and this latest delivery represents a further £200,000 investment.RJCastle-Royal.jpg

Speaking at the recent handover at Castle Royle, the group's flagship club, Thierry Delsol, chief operating officer said, "We are delighted to continue our business partnership with Ransomes Jacobsen for a third term. At The Club Company we are determined to pursue a policy of providing quality in all aspects of our business to ensure that we provide our customers with a product, par excellence. To do this we must have partners who understand our business ethos and Ransomes Jacobsen together with their dealer network have shown a real commitment for the past eight years; long may it continue. We now have 11 clubs in the group and with our new private equity partners we are in a much healthier financial position. We know that we have the right concept with our country club approach to leisure activities. Add to this our enhanced levels of investment and a focus that continues to provide a quality experience for our customers, then we have a significant opportunity to make the Club Company a major player in the UK golf and leisure industry."

Additional information

The Club Company was formed following the management buyout of Clubhaus in May this year. The Club currently owns and operates 7 country clubs and 4 golf clubs with a total of over 30,000 members.

A new £3.4 million investment programme to transform Chartham Park golf club into a country club began in July with an expected completion date of Spring 2005.

Similarly, at The Warwickshire, £7 million is being invested to provide a premier country club with an extensive range of health and fitness facilities plus an enhanced golfing experience.
