Sacriston CCLeading synthetic surfacing specialist Notts Sport is proving that good customer service is alive and well in the sports industry - especially in the delivery of local cricket facilities.

Sacriston Colliery Cricket Club in County Durham enlisted the company's support to design and build two NottsBase D System practice pitches for installation.

Surfaced with NottsWeave, the 30-metre pitches enable players from the club's three adult and four junior teams to practice even after rain, and the facility will need minimal maintenance over its lifetime.

With financial backing from the England and Wales Cricket Board and mentoring from Durham Cricket Board's Graeme Weeks, the club was keen to ensure its project was managed in the most professional way - and under Lee Jacques from Notts Sport, it received the perfect delivery.

Secretary of Sacriston Colliery CC, Stephen Peel, said: "Lee showed exceptional inter-personal skills throughout the project and invested significant time and energy in building a relationship with me as a client.

"He clearly understands the service provider role and it is refreshing in this day and age to deal with a professional who is skilled in facilitating such a relationship."

Notts Sport is the world's leading supplier of non-turf cricket pitch systems for coaching, practice and matchplay.

The company offers two ECB-approved artificial pitches - the NottsBase D System and Envelope System, which can be designed and installed as matchplay or practice facilities - plus a bespoke service and portable training mats.

Working closely with its clients, which include schools, clubs, local authorities, and national and regional sports bodies, Notts Sport is committed to providing effective and innovative solutions and the highest standards of customer care.
