Toro and the IOG launch training awards

Toro and the IOG have announced the launch of the Toro Sports Turf Training Awards 2006.

This is a joint initiative in which Toro, with its distributor Lely, and the IOG will be working in association to recognise exceptional training and educational achievements in grounds management.

The recently launched awards will recognise an individual's commitment to self improvement through training and education in the area of sports turf.

All groundsmen will be eligible (golf greenkeepers excluded) whether professional or volunteer, who are involved in part-time study towards relevant NVQs, or who undertake any level of IOG training during 2005.

Individuals will be nominated by course tutors, lecturers or course trainers throughout 2005, and will be invited to submit personal proposals in support of their nominations.

Winners will be announced at a prestigious IOG awards ceremony at IOG SALTEX in September 2006.

Prizes include an all-inclusive trip to the USA to visit Toro worldwide headquarters, a trip to Disney Wide World of Sports in Florida, participation in the Toro Professional Sports Turf Managers Programme in Barcelona, and an item of Toro equipment for club use.

For full details including criteria, eligibility, timescales and prizes contact the IOG. Alternatively visit www.iog.org, or call the IOG on 01908 312511. E-mail: iog@iog.org.
