All mid-range tractors at one venue

Pitchcare 'Which' Style Tractor tests and Demonstration Open Day

By Dave Saltman

If you are contemplating the purchase of a new mid range tractor this year, then here's the ultimate demo day to attend.

In kind co-operation with Ian Smith (Grounds Manager) and St Albans School, Pitchcare has invited (list below) the majority of tractor manufacturers to supply one mid range tractor each for impartial testing and review by Ian and his staff. All submitted tractors will follow a pre-determined series of tests as listed below, and the results will be correlated and published via the Pitchcare website and hopefully in time for the February/March edition of the Pitchcare magazine.

Aebi UK
Antonio Carraro
Iseki Tractors
Massey Ferguson
Master Farm-Mitsubishi
New Holland
Same Deutz-Fahr
John Deere

There will be a range of tractors on show mostly between 35-45 Hp, testing will be based on the merits and drawbacks of each respective tractor.

The testing criteria will include:

Weight/power ratio
Turning circle (4 wheel drive)
Lifting Power/capacity
Operator comfort
Running/maintenance cost
Road Speed/transmission
Tyre Specification, Foot Print
Finance options...
Ease of Use/control layout

Service intervals-ease of basic servicing

Additionally on Wednesday 1st February we will be holding an open day for Groundsmen and Greenkeepers to come along and look at all the tractors on display/in use. The itinerary for the day and location is below, but to allow for sufficient catering we ask that you e-mail me dave@pitchcare.com to let me know names of people wishing to attend.
