The Trimax International Ambassador of the Year Award 2016 has been presented to Croke Park groundsman Stuart Wilson.

The Trimax International Ambassador of the Year Award recognises someone who has championed British groundsmanship abroad, and Stuart Wilson is widely acknowledged as having played a key role in the development of Croke Park - home of the Gaelic Athletic Association - as one of the best playing surfaces in the world.

He received his award from Trimax' European Commercial Director, Steven Jackson, who was particularly impressed by Stuart's dedication.

"Croke Park's multi-use playing surface has continually improved under Stuart's care, despite a demanding non-stop schedule of sports fixtures and music concerts," says Steve. "Stuart has done superbly well."

Stuart contested the Trimax International Ambassador of the Year Award with Anthony Brooks of the Desert Springs Resort in Spain.

Judges considered criteria such as effective use of resources, budgetary control, presentation and housekeeping standards, as well as environmental factors.
