Two more seminar dates with Dennis

In addition to the dates mentioned below, an additional Bowling Green Maintenance Seminar is on Wednesday 30th April at Ye Olde Knowle BC, Solihull, West Midlands.

The other date to note will be the One-Day Cricket Pitch Maintenance Seminar at The Dorridge CC, Solihull, West Midlands on Tuesday 29th April. The full programme for this seminar is at the bottom of the page.

Dennis, the manufacturers of specialist grounds maintenance equipment for professionals, are to run another series of one-day Bowling Green Maintenance seminars that will be free of charge to all interested turf managers from private clubs, local authorities and contractors. The seminars will follow similar events staged by the company last year, which were enthusiastically received.

Taking a broad view of the subject, Dennis have organised an impressive line-up of speakers from major suppliers, including the seed breeders Barenbrug UK, Collier Turf Care and from Campey Turf Care Systems, the equipment supply and contracting company. After demonstrations of the latest machinery available for bowling green care, professionals will provide advice on a wide range of subjects including details of modern grass cultivars for bowls turf, bowling green diseases and equipment maintenance schedules. Finance options for cost-effective machine purchase will be discussed, as well as the hiring-in of specialist items.

Special guest speakers will present papers covering spring bowling green maintenance essentials, including Dave Bracey, Head Groundsman at the Metropolitan Police Sports Ground in Hayes, Kent, Carl Pass of "Premier Pitches" and Keith Kensett of R & K Kensett. The day includes complimentary lunch and refreshments.

These seminars will take place on:

Thursday 27th March in Sheffield;

Wednesday 2nd April in Blackpool;

Thursday 3rd April in Port Sunlight;

Wednesday 9th April in Norwich;

Thursday 10th April in Stowupland, Suffolk;
