Two new Johnsons seed mixtures for pre-winter and winter/spring overseeding

Johnsons Sports Seed have launched J 4Turf and J Rescue 100.

J 4Turf has been specifically designed for Pre-Winter overseeding. It contains the new 4Turf Tetraploid Perennial Ryegrass cultivars Double and Fabian which combined delivers the highest levels of disease resistance, increased wear tolerance and recovery compared with first generation tetraploids. Double also promises quick establishment, exceptional turf quality and a good year-round colour.

Thanks to this J 4Turf offers rapid establishment even under low soil temperatures (3-10^oC) and is especially suited to winter sports pitches, racecourses and other high wear turf.

J Rescue 100 is designed for winter/spring emergency overseeding and rapid service repairs of all major sports surfaces including golf tees, football & rugby pitches, polo fields and racecourses. It contains 100% Axcella, a unique turf type annual ryegrass that is proven to deliver the fastest low temperature establishment during both laboratory and field trials in temperatures under 4^oC. The dense and vigorous growth habit delivers the wear tolerance required for rapid renovation of winter damaged turf.

Both new mixtures come 'GroMax' treated as standard. 'GroMax' is a dry formulation of natural humates and humic acids, seaweed extract and a variety of sugars and vitamins. Seeds treated with 'GroMax' show stimulated root growth, improved establishment, tolerance to stress and enhanced water and nutrient uptake.

In addition to the two new mixtures, Johnsons will also be launching 12 new mixture formulations, the details of which can be found in the new 2015 catalogue.
