The UK Golf Course Owners Association (UKGCOA), the country's leading authority on the business of golf facility operation, has formed a corporate partnership with Leaderboard Last Minute Golf, a new online tee time reseller service looking to grow the profits of golf courses across the country.
The brainchild of golf course owner and renowned British businessman, Paul Gibbons, Leaderboard Last Minute Golf (www.leaderboardlastminutegolf.com), recently launched to offer an alternative to commission and barter-based models currently in existence for golf course owners and operators.
Golf courses registering with the new service will pay a nominal fee to receive a unique and dedicated page within the site through which its green fees are promoted and sold. This page can be updated free of charge as often as is required by the course, which retains 100 per cent of profits made from sales on the site.
Jerry Kilby, UKGCOA Executive Director, said: "Our members recognise the significant value a third party assisting with sales can bring, but it is crucial that golf courses not only set the green fee that they believe is right for their course, but also are able to secure the best revenue yield from their available tee times."
"Paul is a respected member of the UKGCOA, and it is pleasing to offer our support of his exceptional new service, which will provide substantial assistance with green fee sales across the country."
Making his name - and the Sunday Times Rich List - in publishing, successful entrepreneur Paul Gibbons is Chairman of Leaderboard Golf Ltd, which operates Leaderboard Last Minute Golf, and has a portfolio of five golf facilities including the Sir Nick Faldo designed Chart Hills Golf Club in Kent and Ian Woosnam designed Dale Hill Hotel and Golf Club, East Sussex.
Discussing the new partnership, Gibbons said: "By partnering with the UKGCOA we can link directly with the golf course owners and operators that can benefit from the cost-effective solution to tee-time reselling that Leaderboard Last Minute Golf offers.
