The Jacobsen AR250 was initially purchased to lift the presentation of the semi-rough at the 18 hole, 6883 yard course situated just three miles south of Harrogate in North Yorkshire. As well as the course the estate also includes a 50-bedroom Hotel and Conference facility located and a Holiday Park with Scandinavian style log cabins and static holiday homes.

Richard Hollingworth, head greenkeeper said, "The presentation of the course is a major priority of the owner Simon Mackaness. We cut the fairways to 10mm and then using the AR250 we cut a band of intermediate (semi) rough to 40mm. Using the striping effect that the AR250 provides, this gives real definition to the fairways. The effect is then complemented by the rough which we trim to around 60mm."

"The Resort totals some 300 acres, 270 of which are dedicated to the golf course. This is about twice the size of the average course, which means we have a huge amount of grass to maintain. The AR250 is prodigious in its work rate, but we work it even harder!"

"We share the AR250 with our Estate Management colleagues and they use it for the preparation of the lawns on the approaches and surrounds to the hotel complex. Those areas are cut 50mm and the striping effect looks superb, especially in May & June.

"Finally, it is used for general mowing duties around the Holiday Park. It's worked hard and it's used every day; reliability has been excellent and it's really shown itself to be an exceptionally versatile machine"
