Waltham Windmill Golf Club are delighted to welcome Rob Welford into the position of head greenkeeper.
Having been involved in a similar role at Cleethorpes for nine years, Welford brings a wealth of experience and has high hopes for his new course.
He said: "I'm really looking forward to working at Waltham Windmill and enhancing its already very good reputation.
"A key focus will be to deliver quick and true greens that are the envy of the area. I share existing enthusiasm for the course and desire to make it the best in the area."
Niel Strawson, proprietor at Waltham Windmill, added: "It is really exciting to appoint such a widely respected greenkeeper to take the course forward.
"The course is only 18-years-old and has come on a long way in that time, Rob will now continue its development to make it the best course in the area."
Aside from his role at Waltham, Welford will continue to serve on the National Board of the British and International Golf Greenkeepers Association.
Strawson continued: "These are exciting times at Waltham Windmill and there is a real buzz amongst the members, who can't wait for the season to start."
A members evening was held last night, in order to share the exciting short and medium-term plans that Welford and the club are looking to implement.
Already £55,000 has been spent on new machinery in the first few weeks of the new man's reign.
