Press Release

Active Leisure Contracts have recently laid their POLIGRAS Premium MT 65 third generation rubber crumb infill synthetic surface for Rugby Union's English Champions, London Wasps.

The area, used by the 1st team for sprint training and agility tests, suffered significant wear from early in the season and continuous re-turfing was becoming a problem.

"We looked at all the options on the market", said David Davies, Chief Executive at London Wasps.

"It was a straight choice between using natural turf or a third generation synthetic surface that met the draft requirements of the International Rugby Board."

Davies continued: "Players and coaches at all levels here have responded well to the prospect of using a 3G surface to train on. It will also take the pressure off the natural grass pitches which are currently used".

Poligras premium MT 65 is a specialised product developed primarily for rugby using slide friendly "monotape" yarn technology. Combined with a unique reinforced polyurethane backing and shock absorbing foam underlay it has been chosen by Wasps and Worcester Warriors as well as the Hong Kong football club venue for the international rugby tens.
