Ask around people who regularly use toppers what they would recommend for general maintenance on estates, large gardens and paddocks and Wessex is the name that frequently comes up. It's no surprise, since Wessex has built a reputation on building up to a quality, not down to a price with their CT-topper for compact tractors.

Equally, if you're an ATV user and you're looking for a good, solid topper to fit a budget they don't come much tougher than the Wessex AT-110. Between them these toppers fill the considerable gap between the mediocre and the professional Wessex range, which of course is there to offer a greater choice to contractors.

The CT-topper, part of the Wessex CountryLine range of accessories, features a floating top link and is single bladed with swinging blade tips and full guarding to HSE standards. It hitches easily onto a compact tractor, 14hp and up, connect the PTO, set the adjustable side skids and away you go. The CT is available in working widths of 1.2m, 1.5m and 1.8m.

ATV owners on a budget will find the Wessex AT-110 topper offers the ideal blend of performance and value, with a sturdy deck and a 12.5 hp/9.32kW Briggs & Stratton engine for easy maintenance and reliability. A key feature is the throttle lever that conveniently clicks onto the ATV rack and you can engage and disengage the clutch from your seat.

The drawbar can be offset to either side and is adjustable for an even cut, while the single blade bar has a cutting height between about 60mm to 150mm. The width of the topper is 1.1m and it works well with quads and utility vehicles for both groundcare and agricultural applications.
