What now for parks and green spaces?

Press Releasein Local Authority

parksYesterday the spending review announced the significant loss of public sector jobs and budget cuts over the next four years. More than ever, the parks and green space sector needs to prove its value. The need to work together and understand the options available is essential.

Our next conference represents a unique opportunity to help shape the future of service provision, and get to grips with the real impacts of the new political landscape. Influential figures from within the industry will be present to give their insights, and representatives from government, funders and private bodies will not only offer their own perspective, but listen and respond to yours.

If the sector is to positively move forward, it needs to come together and act now. GreenSpace is determined to give Power to the Parks, but we need your input.

Power to the Parks: Delivering without compromise will take place on Wednesday 24 November in Manchester. Along with a variety of presentations in the morning, a lively roundtable discussion will take place in the afternoon, focusing on the issues currently facing the parks and green spaces sector. There will also be the opportunity for delegates to put questions to the panel, to voice opinions and highlight unanswered questions.
