What to see at BTME

Wessex International has been developing a new addition to the Wessex ProLine CRX range of finishing mowers and it will be on display at BTME. Designated the CRX, the new mower can be mounted front or rear for use with compact tractors from 15hp upwards and is available in 1.5m, 1.8m and 2.4m working widths. Wessex ProLine CRX mowers can be supplied to run on their own four wheels, which, combined with the fully floating linkage points, means that ground contours are accurately followed leaving a premium finish.

The other options are two front wheels with rear roller or no wheels with front and rear rollers. The CRX has been designed for local authorities, amenity areas, private estates and larger gardens to produce first class results on regularly mown turf. The fast tip speed provides the excellent finish and further options include side discharge and a mulching deck. Construction on the CR mowers is heavy-duty and they are built for a long service life.

BTME also provides the opportunity to show the latest Wessex ProLine roller mower, the RMX-500 Tri-deck, which is designed for tractors of seventy horsepower plus. The Wessex machines have set a benchmark in high output roller mowers and they have already proved a highly popular choice with councils and contractors.

The premium cut with fast forward speeds and simple operation offers considerable savings over traditional cylinder mowers for covering large areas, with the wide area decks offering cost efficiency without sacrificing a fine turf finish. The sheer speed of cutting reduces fuel consumption to offer savings by as much as fifty percent. The transmission system allows wings to be engaged and disengaged whilst in work, without a clutch mechanism.

Wing control is independent. They are operational with one wing lifted, and the folding wings can cut gradients from -30° to +30° with the middle deck remaining on level ground. Maintenance is substantially reduced and servicing is economical. When you put these benefits together and weigh up the cost you can easily see the virtues of running a roller mower.
