Winged Foot has a storied history of hosting national championship golf on their two Albert W. Tillinghast-designed courses. They have hosted five U.S. Opens, the 1940 U.S. Amateur, the 1949 Walker Cup, and a PGA Championship on the West Course.

The 120th Championship, which ran from 15th-21st June, comprised of approximately 4,500 dedicated individuals on the volunteer programme. It was their goal to provide each volunteer with a unique and exciting experience during the championship.
