Toro ProPass 200.jpgToro is set to showcase a number of new machines alongside all the classics from its turf maintenance machinery range at Harrogate Week 2010.

Built to handle even the toughest of tasks, Toro's new Workman HD Series of heavy duty utility vehicles is tougher than ever. Comprising two-wheel and four-wheel drive diesel options, the Workman HDX-D boasts the highest total carrying load in the industry together with a towing capacity of up to 1,588kg/3,500lb.

Replacing its predecessors the Workman 3300 and 4300, key features of the HD Series include the i-beam shaped DeDion rear axle, an innovative automotive technology that isolates the engine, transmission and main frame from all load forces, thereby eliminating potential overstress in these components and ensuring the vehicle's trouble-free long life.

Further design benefits such as a truss-like front space frame, integrated wheel bearings and hydraulic disc brakes on all four wheels for greater stopping power ensure the Workman HD Series utility vehicles combine remarkable performance with a smooth, comfortable ride.

This introduction will also benefit from another brand new launch - the Toro ProPass range of top-dressing attachments and material-handling equipment for golf course and sports field applications, previously known as TY-CROP. Newly acquired by The Toro Company in the States, Canadian-owned TY-CROP is already an established brand having been in business for the past 30 years.

Helping golf courses and sports fields achieve improved agronomic conditions for healthier, more consistent playing surfaces, Toro is confident that Toro ProPass will complement its existing line of cultivation and application equipment, such as the Toro Topdresser 2500. From spin-style topdressers for accurate spread and the lightest footprint to heavy-duty material handling solutions, the ProPass product portfolio expands Toro's existing range into a more comprehensive offering to meet customers' turf maintenance needs.

The show will also give visitors the chance to check out another recent addition to the Workman range - the Workman MD Series of mid-duty utility vehicles.

Toro believes the MD, MDX and electric MDE models offer unrivalled ride comfort as well as improved performance for the ultimate operator experience. A unique new coil-over shock absorber suspension concept not only increases operator comfort and safety while reducing fatigue, but also improves the machine's productivity and efficiency.

Toro has combined each MD Series model's enhanced suspension with a clever Active In-Frame twister joint, which allows each axle to react independently to the terrain. This means all four wheels can maintain constant contact with the ground for better traction and stability, plus less potential turf damage. Together, these two technologies are known as 'Superior Ride Quality' - or SRQ - which is why Toro is confident that operators of the Workman MD, MDX and MDE will enjoy the smoothest ride over even the most undulating of surfaces.

A new mower will also make its debut. The all-new Groundsmaster 4300-D rotary mower combines a lightweight footprint with superior hill-climbing, plus an extraordinary aftercut appearance.

Thanks to its generous cutting width of 2.3m/90in, the Groundsmaster 4300-D can cut roughs in record time. And each of its five Contour Plus cutting units closely follow contours for an even cut on undulating terrain while heavy-duty rear rollers provide a beautiful striping pattern for spectacular results. Even steep slopes or wet terrain won't slow this mower down - its CrossTrax four-wheel drive system and powerful Kubota 32.8kW/44hp turbo-diesel engine ensure it's a cut above other mowers on the market!

Also on show is the ProCore SR Series of deep-tine, tractor-mounted aerators. Offering effective aeration up to depths of 40cm, this recently launched range alleviates subsurface soil compaction on surfaces spanning golf greens and fairways, sports fields, parks, and many more besides, penetrating through the compaction layer sometimes caused by traditional aeration methods.

Toro's popular Greensmaster Flex 18 and Flex 21 pedestrian greensmowers, which now benefit from a new 14-blade reel, will also be present. Promising a crisper and more consistent cut without compromising your long-term turf health - even when cutting below 0.100 of an inch (2.5mm) - this breakthrough is complemented by already proven benefits, such as the impressive 'flexible' design the Flex 18 and 21 are famed for.
