As part of Technical Surfaces wide-ranging remit in the field of sports maintenance, they have recently completed extensive line marking works to the wooden floor of the indoor gymnasium at HMS Sultan in Gosport, Hampshire.

It was 'all hands on deck' as Technical Surfaces were requested to mark out six badminton courts, two netball courts, two basketball courts, one tennis court, one volleyball court, a full-size hockey pitch, two five-a-side pitches and two bleep tests.

Three phases of work were required to complete the desired effect; the sanding of the floor and the application of an initial coat of seal; line marking using specialist materials; and the application of the final two coats of seal.

"Everybody here is more than happy with the works that have been carried out," reveals Mike Sait, Projects Manager at HMS Sultan. "The high-quality effect of these line markings allows us to continue to provide one of the Royal Navy's most modern training facilities."

Technical Surfaces have also completed maintenance and repairs to the synthetic pitches on site, and are pleased to help ensure that the Royal Navy's largest training establishment remains in 'ship-shape and Bristol - or should that be Gosport - fashion'!
