Celebrate better salt spreading with Magnum
With winter approaching and a hard season forecast, successful importer of essential equipment DMMP Limited is delighted to announce that it has become the exclusive importer and dealer for the Magnum salt-spreaders. This hardy, no-nonsense range can be fitted to vehicles, trailers, forklift or even quad bikes; with prices from just £799 for the spreaders and £150 for accessories no contractor need be left in the cold this winter.
Designed and manufactured in the US in Ohio where the lowest recorded temperature was minus 29 degrees (1994) and third of the year is below freezing, the Magnum range has been honed to cope with tough winters but it was trialled in England last winter when we experienced our coldest winter for 31 years. Well known in the US as a high quality spreader designed for professionals, the brand was taken over by the Louis Berkman Work product Company in 2007. Louis Berkman's impressive industrial portfolio spans the steel industry, through to pumps and spreaders so they have brought unrivalled experience and expertise to the Magnum brand as well as start-of-the-art manufacturing facilities and a specialist workforce. By distributing Magnum in the UK, DMMP us tapping into a considerable resource of experience and product development.
The Magnum range is a contractor's dream perfect for the UK, explains DMMP commercial director Colin Hood. "The range is comprehensive embracing all snow and ice conditions plus you can choose between fitting them to a vehicle tailgate, trailer or forklift. Many of the built-in features such as the vibration kit and extra blast on the S575P and S1075P models are considered to be add-ons by some manufactures plus we have a large choice of drive options. This all adds up to a rugged and versatile product which will make light work of heavy weather."
During extensive trails last winter Smartcut - a large and well-known contractor in the south of England - made the first purchase and put the Magnum BLS240P to work in extremely difficult weather conditions across all of its contracts. Smartcut's managing director and head of operations Tom Rimell reported that he found the product to be a quality, well made piece of equipment. With a little modification (by fitting a vibrator kit and optional control unit) the Magnum was capable of evenly spreading even damp lumpy brown salt. Smartcut fitted their Magnum BLS240P to a quad bike and used it on pathways and car parks.
"We're delighted to add the excellent Magnum range to our stable," concludes Colin. "The range perfectly complements market-leading Earthway spreaders, which we distribute, plus our comprehensive choice of winter snow and ice control products. Any organisation responsible for keeping walkways and public areas safe can contact us knowing we have the best equipment for them."
