Class topping

Tony Hawkinsin Industry News

A little sunshine, warmer temperatures followed by the usual bouts of rain and the grass and weeds are up and away. It's the same every year, this sudden spurt of growth in the paddock, around the estate, the meadow, all want topping and you need to be ready. If you use a 14hp, 16hp or 25hp compact tractor there's an ideal pasture topper in the shape of the Wessex Country CT 120, CT 150 and CT 180 models respectively.

They have become firm favourites over the years, not least because they are well-built yet economical and are designed to fill the gap between lesser imports and the professional Wessex range. They come with features such as a floating A-frame, single blade bar with swinging blade tips and full guarding to HSE specifications. Simply hitch to your tractor, connect the PTO and you're away.

The single blade bar uses minimal power consumption and offers maximum resistance to stone damage. The side skids are adjustable and you get a cutting width of 105cm with the CT120, 139cm with the CT 150 and 173cm for the CT180. Cutting height for the three toppers is between 10cm and 85cm. British made, built up to a quality and not down to a price, these toppers are in a class of their own. Broadwood International 01420 478111.
