What scares you? A Boris Johnson Premiership.

What is your favourite sport? Cricket.

What would you cast into Room 101? Literary interpretation: fluffy puppies, TV interpretation: all betting ads.

Which historical time and place would you most like to visit? California in the 1960s, when genuine change was thought possible.

Which three people, living or dead, would you invite to a dinner party? David Hume, JMW Turner and Mike Brearley.

What's your favourite piece of trivia? A Venusian day lasts longer than a Venusian year.

Which three albums would you take to a desert island? Beethoven - 9th Symphony, Bob Dylan - Blood on the tracks and Tom Waits - Closing Time.

What's your favourite piece of kit? Scag rotary cutter.

What is the single most useful thing you could tell a 16-year-old groundsperson/greenkeeper? Listen and learn from those with decades of experience ... if possible.

What talent would you like to have? The ability to paint.
