Kate completes charity walk
Dr Kate Entwistle successfully completed her Pennine Way walk for charity in mid- October, raising £2116.85 for the Brain Tumour Research charity.
"The walk was easily as much a mental challenge as it was a distance walk," said Kate, "and there were times during the fifteen days when I seriously questioned my sanity, but there was never a moment that I thought about giving up. It was an amazing experience and I am proud to have achieved it, but more pleased to have been able to raise a fantastic amount for this very worthwhile charity."
"I am so grateful to everyone who has supported my fundraising effort and want to pass on my sincere thanks."
Beginning at Edale in the Peak District, Kate's trek covered a distance of 267 miles and was completed at Kirk Yetholm just inside the Scottish Borders.
Kate's father Maurice passed away after suffering from a brain tumour and raising money for the charity, which funds research into brain tumours to help improve survival rates across the UK, was her way of honouring him.
