The event, well attended by Kubota dealers from across the British Isles, saw guests learn the history of D.W. Tomlin's engineering expertise, which has seen the company grow substantially since its 1957 inception.

The firm joined forces with Kubota in 1994 and has developed an excellent relationship with the brand. At the event, Kubota UK's Managing Director, Dave Roberts, addressed guests to affirm the important role that implements play in Kubota's business plan and the growth opportunities they offer its dealer network. D.W. Tomlin's owner, Richard Tomlin, then took the party round the recently expanded factory for a tour of its operations.

Situated in the same 10 acre holding where Richard's father founded the company, D.W. Tomlin's factory now manufactures 2,000 implements per year, using 150 litres of paint each week to brand the products. With a team of 23 welding engineers within the unit, D.W. Tomlin's workers build the implements from raw steel components, with end products ranging from trailers, trolleys and onion toppers.

Dave Roberts, commented: "Implement attachments for our range of agriculture and groundcare machines present a real opportunity for growth for Kubota and our dealers. This event served as an ideal platform to demonstrate to our dealer customers the quality of D.W. Tomlin's product offering. It was a fantastic event and I am sure our customers will go away with a greater focus and confidence to push and secure increased sales of Kubota implements moving forward."

Andy Rayner, Groundcare Sales Manager for Thurlow Nunn Standen Ltd, added: "Kubota's day at D.W. Tomlin gave us an invaluable insight into what Richard and his team do at the factory facility, whilst highlighting that there are lots of potential sales for Kubota implements. Now that us dealers have the full appreciation and understanding of the build quality and welding excellence the implements hold, it gives us further incentive to win more business for these first class products."

Richard Tomlin closed by stating: "For a small company such as ourselves, working with a world renowned brand like Kubota genuinely is an honour. We know what we bring in terms of manufacturing value, but to have the financial backing and the reputation of an international corporation for 21 years has taken our operation to the next level.

"The day was a real success for all involved. It gave us at D.W. Tomlin the opportunity to showcase to the Kubota dealers our facilities and the processes we have in place to deliver our strong product offering, whilst Dave Roberts and the Kubota team presented a compelling case for growth opportunity within implements sales. I very much look forward to continuing this relationship well into the future, building upon on the foundations we have laid as a working partnership."
