Doncaster Town Moor golf course is situated in the centre of Doncaster Racecourse and is a free draining heathland course playable all year round. It is reputed to be one of the best winter courses in South Yorkshire.

To maintain this reputation, course manager Richard Stanley, has returned to his local dealer Palmers Groundcare and purchased additional turf maintenance equipment.

This season's equipment includes a Jacobsen Greens King VI, and Iseki SGR ride-on rotary mower, an Iskei TK538 compact tractor with cab and an E-Z-GO ST4x4 utility vehicle. For the workshop he also purchased a Bernhard grinder.

"We had a previous E-Z-GO utility vehicle for seven years without problems; it was a great little workhorse", said Richard. "When I came to upgrade it, I had a look at what Palmers had to offer and the ST4x4 looked perfect for our requirements. It's certainly met our expectations and is everything you could want in a utility vehicle.

"The Greens King VI is our second machine; we had one of the very first off the production line back in 2000. It's performed very well and the quality of cut is second to none."

Doncaster Town Moor Golf Club has occupied the site since 1923 and in recent years the clubhouse, Neathherds House, was demolished to accommodate the building of the Doncaster Dome complex. The membership relocated on a temporary basis originally and then managed to purchase the Doncaster Rovers Supporters Club negotiating a 60 year lease.
