New groundcare marketing specialist at New Holland
New Holland has appointed Steve Basnett as marketing support specialist for the groundcare division, heading sales activities for the company's wide range of compact tractors and mowing equipment.
Basnett assumes the role having been previously working in New Holland's Demonstrations Team, attending field events and shows across Europe. He is now also responsible for the manufacturer's Telehandlers, T4000, T5000, TD5000 and T4000 utility V/N/F models optimised for vineyards and fruit/orchards.
"I'm relishing the opportunity to work across the UK and Republic of Ireland markets," Basnett says. "The job means that we meet a wide variety of people and one day is never the same as the next, and I'm looking forward to meeting dealers and customers - potential and existing - in the coming months.
"It's an exciting time to be involved in the industry as we look to introduce new products and service offerings to the market."
A key change between his new and former roles is a unique focus on New Holland's smaller horsepower tractors, a switch he's looking forward to.
"New responsibilities also include tailoring the specification of machines to suit the needs of the UK and ROI market and helping dealers order machines in specific build criteria," he says.
Basnett will be working closely with the New Holland field team and their dealers to enhance sales of established products and ensure they have the information they need to compete successfully in today's challenging conditions.
Specifically, that means continuing the introduction of the Rustler 120 UTV to the marketplace and working with the nationwide dealer network through training and promotions.
"There are challenges for the groundcare industry given the economic climate but those also bring opportunities. By working in partnership with our dealers we can strengthen the brand position and look forward to a bright future."
