Dedicate packshot
Dedicate®, the contact and systemic fungicide from Bayer CropScience, has been reauthorised.

It now has some new label text and can be used for four treatments a year rather than the traditional two.

Dedicate® is an aqueous suspension concentrate containing 200g/L tebuconazole and 100g/L trifloxystrobin. The maximum individual dose is one litre/ha, with the maximum number of treatments listed as four per year.

As Dedicate® can be applied year round to managed amenity turf sites including golf courses, sport turf (football and rugby pitches, tennis, bowls and cricket pitches) and ornamental turf (parks, institutional, commercial and residential lawns, municipal grounds and cemeteries) it forms an ideal part of an integrated turf management programme. Tebuconazole and trifloxystrobin are two separate classes of fungicide with different modes of action, which together in one product will reduce the chance of resistance appearing.

The new label, with new MAPP number (MAPP 17003) specifies the use of Dedicate® for the control of Fusarium Patch (Microdochium nivale), Red Thread (Laetisaria fuciformis), Anthracnose (Colletotrichum cereale), Dollar Spot (Sclerotinia homoeocarpa), Leafspot (Drechslera spp.) and Rust (Puccinia spp.) in amenity turf.

Following a positive review of both active substances at EU level, a review of products is required at Member State level. This new authorisation is a result of this process. This process also requires the revocation of the old authorisation for Dedicate®, MAPP number 13612.

Distributors are still allowed to supply the product through the distribution chain until September 30th 2015, and then end users have until September 30th 2016 to use up stocks or dispose of in line with UK legislation. During this time, if end users have stock with the old label and MAPP number, they are able to use this product in line with this new authorisation, as long as they have a copy of the current label.
