Head Groundsman Scott Patterson is to leave his position at the Kia Oval.

Patterson, who has led the ground staff since 2010, has accepted a new position away from Surrey CCC and will leave before the start of the new domestic season on April 5th.

The Club are now accepting applications for the position of Head Groundsman - more details of the job specification and application process are available here.

During the application process the ground staff will be led by former Head Groundsman Bill Gordon, who has stayed on at the club after his retirement as a day to day consultant.

Speaking this week, Patterson said: "I have enjoyed my five years at Surrey and I would like to thank everybody for their support during that time. It has been a real privilege to work at the Kia Oval and I wish the club all the best in the future."

Surrey Chief Executive Richard Gould added: "I would like to pay tribute to work of Scott Patterson - who led a team producing consistently excellent pitches - and wish him all the best for his future career.

"Head Groundsman is one of the most important positions within the Kia Oval and we will now embark on a wide ranging recruitment process to ensure we are able to secure the best possible candidate for this role going forward."
