The annual football match between Scotts and grounds staff at Ipswich Town Football Club was a high scoring game with a nail-biting finish. Held at Portman Road, the fixture saw Scotts taking an early lead, going into half time 2-0 up. Another two goals followed for the visitors, but Ipswich found their stride late on and clawed back two goals in the last 15 minutes.

After the game, Dave Steward, of Scotts, presented Ipswich Town head groundsman Alan Ferguson with a new shirt to commemorate his winning the Head Groundsman of the Year Award for the third consecutive year.

"The annual football game with Scotts has become an ideal way to finish the season," commented Alan. "The result is not always the most important part of the night, but we will be going for a win next year.

"The relationship between the club and Scotts has gone from strength to strength over recent years and has helped to play an important part in the success we have had with all our pitches. I'm not usually stuck for words but I was left speechless when Dave Steward presented me with the first home shirt to bear the club's new sponsor with my name on the back. The presentation may have been made to me, but there have been so many other people who have worked very hard at Portman Road - but we'd never get all the names on the shirt!

"Everyone at the club really appreciates the help and support we get from Scotts, and we are looking forward to welcoming all the visitors they bring to Portman Road over the season ahead."
