Somerset and Gloucestershire to stage friendly at Bath CC

Press Releasein Cricket

Marcus Trescothick will lead a strong Somerset side into action at Bath Cricket Club's North Parade ground when they face Gloucestershire in a 40-over friendly on Thursday (12 noon).

The game was switched from Gloucestershire's Nevil Road ground after the recovery of the outfield in Bristol was delayed by the harsh winter.

And former England opener Trescothick, from Keynsham, is relishing the chance to return to a venue he knows particularly well.

He said: "This is great news for us because it will make it into a home fixture.

"I love Bath Cricket Club and have always enjoyed playing there during the time that I was with Keynsham had many close games on the ground. It is always in good condition and a picturesque ground to play on so we are all looking forward to the game up there. "I have got a long association with the ground and going way back to when I was really much younger I used to attend winter nets in the Peter Wight Indoor School, where I had a lot of coaching with Peter Robinson."
