image001Warrington based Stuart Canvas, the UK's leading manufacturer of bespoke sports, commercial and industrial covers, has been appointed to design, manufacture and install covers and screens for a number of Olympic venues and events. The design and manufacture of the covers will take place in the company's 25,000sq foot site at Hardwick Grange, Warrington.

Stuart Canvas has been given the task of designing and manufacturing the covers for the brand new 400-metre BMX Track, located next to the Velodrome to the north of the Olympic Park. The company will also provide covers, tents and vet screens for the Olympic Equine events at Greenwich Park. As the existing provider of Wimbledon's tennis covers, Stuart Canvas has also been tasked with servicing the covers and other on court furniture after the Championships, ready for use in the Olympic events, while also having a full team in place for the duration of the event.

The appointment further cements Stuart Canvas's position as the number one provider of sports covers in the UK. The company already provides covers for iconic events such as Lords, Wimbledon, Ascot, Aintree and Manchester United Football Ground.

Edward Stoddart, Chief Executive of Stuart Canvas, comments: "It is great news that a UK company has been appointed to manufacture equipment for the Olympics. The team is really proud to have been appointed and is now working flat out to deliver the covers for this iconic sporting event."

Established in 1971, Stuart Canvas is the UK's leading manufacturer of covers, with over 35 years experience in manufacturing PVC and cotton tarpaulins for sports, commercial and bespoke uses.
