Technical Surfaces Technical Surfaces were recently contacted by sports marketing and event management company Limelight Sports, who were tasked with managing the trials at this summer's Nike 'Most Wanted' road show.

Held during football's close season, 'Most Wanted 'offers a platform for young footballers to showcase their skills aiming to earn a place at a prestigious Nike Football training camp supervised in part by none other than Manchester United Manager, Sir Alex Ferguson.

The road show travelled to locations including London, Glasgow, Dublin and Newcastle, and the nature of the trials at each event meant areas of the surface being used had to be covered in protective carpet.

Limelight Sports urgently needed to source a suitable product in time for 'kick-off', and with only days to go the search was on. Luckily, in Technical Surfaces they found the right people for the job.

Paul Dews, Project Assistant at Limelight Sports, commented "Limelight Sports utilised the Technical Surfaces Astroturf for the Control test element of the Nike 'Most Wanted' Trials that were rolled out across the UK and Ireland during July and August and we're delighted with the results they achieved".

Technical Surfaces were able to deliver the carpet to Limelight Sports the very next day, upon which it was adorned with the famous swoosh logo, plus other markings required for the competition.

Twenty-two lucky winners will go on to attend the training camp, and with any luck a few might even break through to the professional game - helping England to restore its footballing hopes for the future.
