A clean sweep wil earn you a medal!

SCH (Supplies) Ltd have developed a new hard surface powered sweeper for the sports ground market.

Designed to be a quick and efficient way of removing leaves, twigs, grit and sand primarily from hard surface sports areas, the new unit will perform equally as well on natural surfaces. The brushes will also sweep and lift compacted pile from artificial surfaces.

Four rows of height adjustable brushes sweep the debris into a 270 litre collecting box. The brushes are driven by a 5.5hp Honda engine with a centrifugal clutch. This means that when the engine speed is reduced the brushes stop revolving. The unit is as easy to empty as it is to manoeuvre.

The first of these new units, manufactured at SCH's factory in Suffolk, was designed in response to a request from the maintenance department of a large sports centre in Guildford. In this case, SCH put together a package which included the towing tractor. The company say they can quote for various sports surface machinery packages, with or without a tractor. The company website has a section dedicated to sports grounds.

The unit is priced at £2,179.00 plus VAT and, when needed, replacement brushes are available at £38.00 plus VAT each. (There are four brushes on each machine.)
