Following the successful launch of their new Compost Makers at BTME, Course Care held a demonstration day at Woodsome Hall golf club recently.

The 5 cubic meter Compost Maker (seen here) was in action chopping, shredding, mashing and mixing it's way through hollow tines cores, leaves, clippings, twigs, small branches, cardboard (courtesy of the pro-shop!) and two or three pallets!

The demonstration was seen by interested course managers from the area and four representatives from the STRI. Woodsome Hall's course manager, Jeremy Eastwood and his greens chairman Roger Wood witnessed the event. Said Jeremy, "We have long term plans for on site composting and believe this is the way forward. The compost maker was hitched to our 45 h.p. Kubota L4630 and the machine exceeded our expectations. We were very, very impressed with the compostable material produced and in such a short space of time. We are keen to go ahead and are now investigating grant aid"

"The 5 cubic metre compost maker is proving to be the most popular machine" said Course Care's David Mears. "It only requires a 40 h.p. p.t.o. output and is so transportable. It can be taken to various locations on the course to collect material, switched on to create the material and then the elevator is lowered and, creeping forward, a windrow is built. Yes one machine does everything!"
